Eating on a budget and a dash...

There are times when trimming goes beyond coupons and saving money. This past year, my husband did not work for a few months, besides a little consulting work. Our spending drastically changed! But we made it and still managed to eat relatively healthy meals!

We also stay on the go during the week- often eating around 9:30pm- which is against all normal recommendations!

Here is a sample of our "trim-the budget week" Monday-Friday. And- by the way, I managed to keep off about 8 lbs that I lost when we moved south again (the Northern Italian food had become my weakness- so the lack of that combined with GA heat allowed for the loss of poundage...)

1 night- dinner at Taco Bell drive thru:1 chicken quesadilla, 2 orders of nachos(.99), 4 fresco chicken soft tacos (meal total usually around $6-$10)
1 night- Little Caesar's pizza ($5, if we are super hungry 2 pizzas for $10)
Kashi cereal for breakfast or nutela/whole wheat sandwiches
Snacks:popcorn(homemade), bananas and apples, blue corn chips
Orange Juice
1 night Black Beans, salsa & Rice
1 night pasta something
1 night sandwiches or leftovers
* I keep organic chicken nuggets, frozen burritos and mini cheese raviolis stocked in freezer for lunch

So- for the week, all things included Monday-Friday about $30 That is something to smile about!!!!!!!
