Saturday Morning Biscuits

A dear friend of mine, Sarah, recently shared some homemade fig preserves and fig raspberry jam (figs from her yard)...so we just had to make some biscuits! I like this version because there are no hydrogenated fats. A once in awhile treat...

1/3 of a stick of cold butter, cut into little pieces
2 cups self rising flour
1 cup whipping cream

Heat oven to 410 degrees. Cut butter into flour with a pastry cutter. Add cream and mix with a wooden spoon. Knead dough right in your bowl. Turn out on a lightly floured surface (or use parchment paper or wax paper- easy clean up). I roll out...or push out with my hands. Cut with a biscuit cutter or your favorite roundish cookie cutter.

Place on parchment and cook for 12-14 minutes. Enjoy with your favorite jam. Doesn't get any better. And my husband fried some bacon this morning! God is good.
