Munchie Mission

Just a few to share- but you can't go wrong with these!
If you need a crunch or something sweet:

(try to buy organic if you can find and if your budget allows)
  • apples (good with almond butter)
  • carrots
  • air-popped pop corn (I put a little bit of real butter & sea salt on top)
  • blue corn chips and homemade hummus ( see recipe to the right)
  • smoothies (made with yogurt, 1/2 banana, other fresh/ frozen fruit and a small amount of pomegranate/ acai / mangosteen juice, crushed ice)
  • bananas, cut in half length wise, heated in a non- stick skillet with a tsp of real vanilla sprinkled over them- yum so good!
  • yogurt (look at labels- a lot of companies are trying to make a buck here- all quality yogurt has good bacteria that helps your digestive track...you don't want artificial chemicals or high fructose corn syrup added while you are trying to keep your temple healthy)
  • kiwis
  • organic string cheese
  • Snack mix: dried cranberries, walnuts & semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • frozen red seedless grapes
  • dark chocolate candy bar, of course, hidden, so no other grubbers can find it. I just break off a little bit when I have to have CHOCOLATE...and I really would share. I think.
  • grilled pineapple with nutella (chocolate hazelnut spread) drizzled over the top

You'll notice I don't have any peanut butter snacks- little Selah is in the process of being healed from a peanut allergy...just hasn't manifested yet- so we are staying clear of the peanuts for now.

Be sure to share your healthy snack ideas in the comment section!
